Yebiga Rakija is an authentic Serbian plum brandy brand founded by American musician Bill Gould, bassist of the band Faith No More. Gould first encountered rakija in 1992 during a tour in Budapest, when Serbian fans gifted him homemade plum brandy. Captivated by the tradition and taste of rakija, he decided to bring this unique spirit to a wider audience.
Yebiga Rakija is produced in Serbia using traditional methods. Ripe plums are fermented on-site and distilled in copper pot stills. The distillate is then aged for 18 months in Serbian oak barrels crafted from trees harvested in the same region. This process imparts Yebiga Rakija with its distinctive flavor and quality.
Since its launch, Yebiga Rakija has received positive feedback and is available in several U.S. states, including California, Illinois, Washington D.C., Florida, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. Gould's commitment to authenticity and quality has helped raise awareness of rakija in the U.S., introducing this traditional Balkan spirit to a new audience.
