Description

Liqueurs of Monastery Zica are recognizable for their high content and natural colour of fruits, natural ingredients and long flavor of taste. Among so many colors that are so enjoyable for the eye, there is also a very special one in Serbian folk tradition – raspberry red colour. You can see it on scarf, woman’s headkerchief or as detail at some needlework or within Eastern decoration. Even one of the most famous Russian painters Vasily Kandinski, stands it out among all the colors, calling it – the only cold among all the red ones! Is it possible that this extraordinarily educated and talented painter was wrong? Not at all! His sense for colours, but also for folk tradition, see this raspberry colour as neither warm nor aggressive.

About the brand - Monastery Žiča

$s
The Monastery Zica of Serbian Orthodox Church, located in Central Serbia (close to Kraljevo town), celebrates the national anniversary of 800 years of existence and uninterrupted orthodox religion’s mission at this sacred place. The Monastery, together with the Church of the Savior, was built by the first king of Serbia, Stefan the Firstborn. The monastery was destroyed in the 13th century, but was rebuilt by King Stefan Milutin at the beginning of the 14th century. A lot of reach Serbian history has been written at this place, while nowadays at this quite and peaceful women’s monastery, in love and with prayers live and work nuns who are also main “responsible” artists for beauty, fragrance and taste of all these fruit products.
