A grape-based brandy similar to cognac, Vinjak is very popular in the former Yugoslavia.

It is produced by blending various wine distillates and aging them in 500-liter oak barrels. This brandy was once marketed under the name "cognac" and closely resembles it, even following the same rating system (VS, VSOP, and XO). It remains one of the most popular drinks in the ex-Yugoslav region and is enriched with caramel coloring.
